Day 01: Aswan City Tour – Aswan ON

Your incredible journey begins in Aswan, where we will pick up all our guests from various locations such as hotels, the train station, or the airport. You will embark on an amazing tour of Aswan’s most iconic attractions.

Your first stop is the renowned Aswan High Dam, an engineering marvel that has had a significant impact on Egypt’s modern history. This dam was constructed during the 1960s to control the annual flooding of the Nile River, safeguarding Egypt from potential disaster.

Following your visit to the High Dam, you’ll set sail aboard a Nile motorboat to reach the majestic Philae Temple. This temple complex, dedicated to the goddess Isis, was relocated to its current location on Philae Island to save it from the rising waters caused by the construction of the High Dam. The temple is a testament to ancient Egyptian architecture and devotion.

As your day unfolds, you will have the opportunity to disembark from the cruise. You’ll enjoy a delicious lunch onboard the cruise, along with afternoon tea, dinner, and even an evening disco party. The cruise will remain docked overnight in Aswan.

Day 02

Your day begins with an extraordinary excursion to the Abu Simbel Temple Complex. At around 4:30 AM, your guide will pick you up for this adventure, and you’ll be sharing the experience with a small group of fellow travelers. The journey to Abu Simbel is well worth the early start.

You’ll arrive at Abu Simbel around 8 AM to visit one of the most awe-inspiring sites in Egypt: the rock-cut temples of Abu Simbel. These temples were constructed for King Ramesses II and his beloved Queen Nefertari. The unique design and colossal statues at Abu Simbel make it a remarkable archaeological treasure. You’ll have ample time to explore and appreciate the grandeur of these temples.

After your visit to Abu Simbel, you’ll return to the cruise by noon to enjoy a well-deserved lunch. The cruise will then set sail, heading towards Kom Ombo city.

In Kom Ombo, you’ll have the opportunity to visit the dual temple dedicated to two deities: Sobek, the crocodile god, and Horus, the falcon god. The Temple of Kom Ombo is a fascinating example of ancient Egyptian religious architecture.

After your visit to Kom Ombo, you’ll return to the cruise and have dinner onboard. The cruise will continue its journey, sailing to Edfu, where you will spend the night.

Day 03

Your day starts with an early morning excursion to the Temple of Horus in Edfu. You’ll embark on a unique experience, taking a horse-drawn carriage ride with your tour guide to reach the temple. The Temple of Horus at Edfu is renowned for being the most complete and best-preserved ancient Egyptian temple. Its grandeur and intricate hieroglyphics make it a remarkable testament to the ancient civilization’s architectural and artistic achievements.

You’ll have approximately 2 hours to explore this impressive temple, learning about its history and significance from your knowledgeable guide.

Later in the afternoon, you’ll arrive at your cruise dock in Luxor. From there, you’ll be transferred to Luxor Temple on the East bank of Luxor. This temple is a fascinating blend of ancient Egyptian, Christian, and Islamic features, showcasing the city’s rich history and cultural influences. You’ll have the opportunity to explore this unique site.

After your visit to Luxor Temple, you’ll return to the cruise for dinner, which will be followed by a belly dancing show. You’ll spend the night in Luxor.

Note: If your arrival at Luxor dock is between 3:00 PM and 3:30 PM, there may be a chance to visit both Karnak and Luxor Temples.

Day 04

After enjoying your breakfast, you’ll begin an unforgettable day of exploration. You’ll check out from your cruise and start by driving to the West Bank of Luxor, where you’ll visit several iconic ancient Egyptian sites.

1. Valley of the Kings: This is where the pharaohs from the New Kingdom chose to carve their magnificent tombs into the mountains. You’ll have approximately 2 hours to explore this historic site, discovering the grandeur of the royal tombs.

2. Temple of Hatshepsut at Deir el Bahari: Next, you’ll visit the Mortuary Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at El Deir El Bahari. This temple is not only architecturally stunning but also has a fascinating history, particularly in relation to Queen Hatshepsut’s reign. You’ll spend about 1 hour exploring this site.

3. Temple of Karnak: Returning to the East Bank of Luxor, you’ll encounter the colossal Temple of Karnak. This temple complex was constructed over a period of 2000 years and covers an area of approximately 63 acres. You’ll have the opportunity to take memorable photos among its massive pillars and obelisks.

Finally, after concluding your tour in Luxor, you’ll be transferred to your Luxor hotel, the airport, or the railway station (usually around 3:00 to 4:00 PM), depending on your travel arrangements.

Day 01: Luxor East Bank – Luxor ON

Your journey in Luxor begins with a visit to the magnificent Karnak Temples Complex on the East Bank of the Nile. These temples are among the most impressive architectural wonders in human history. The central and principal structure within Karnak is the Temple of Amun-Ra, believed to be the dwelling place of the god on Earth. The temple’s origins date back to the Middle Kingdom, with some references suggesting even earlier constructions dating back to the 3rd Dynasty.

Following your exploration of Karnak, your next destination is the Temple of Luxor. This temple was initially built during the 12th Dynasty and later completed by the renowned Pharaoh Ramses II. It, too, is dedicated to the chief deity, Amun-Re. The Temple of Luxor is situated in the heart of ancient Thebes, and like Karnak, it played a crucial role in the religious and political life of ancient Egypt.

After your day of exploration, you’ll return to your cruise ship for some rest and refreshment. In the evening, you can enjoy an Egyptian folkloric show hosted by the ship’s staff. Dinner will be served on board, and you’ll spend the night in Luxor.

Please note that if your arrival time in Luxor is early, the tour will begin immediately upon your arrival. Cruise check-in typically begins at 12:00 PM, and this way, you won’t have to wait in the lobby for check-in.

Day 02: Luxor West Bank – Sail to Edfu & ON

Your day in Luxor begins with a delightful breakfast on your Nile cruise. Following breakfast, you’ll embark on a magical journey through Thebes, the sacred land, as you explore the West Bank of Luxor.

Your first stop is the Valley of the Kings, an ancient burial ground for the Theban kings and rulers of Egypt. This site holds the resting places of numerous Pharaohs from ancient Egyptian history, including the renowned Tutankhamun. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the fascinating tombs within the valley.

Next, you’ll visit the Temple of Queen Hatshepsut at Deir El Bahari. This temple is a remarkable example of ancient Egyptian architecture, as it was entirely carved into the mountainside. Queen Hatshepsut’s temple is a testament to her rule and the grandeur of her reign.

Concluding your day’s exploration, you’ll see the Colossi of Memnon, colossal statues that once adorned the mortuary temple of King Amenhotep III. These statues are a significant historical and archaeological attraction.

Following your tour, you’ll return to your cruise ship for lunch. The afternoon offers some leisure time for you to relax and enjoy the cruise. You’ll have dinner on board and spend the night on the cruise ship.

Day 03: Edfu – Kom Ombo – Sail to Aswan & ON

You’ll start your day with a hearty breakfast on board your Nile cruise. Following breakfast, your knowledgeable tour guide will lead you on a fascinating journey to the land of secrets.

Your first stop today is the Temple of Horus in Edfu, one of the most remarkable and well-preserved temples in Egypt. This temple is dedicated to the god Horus and provides a captivating glimpse into the religious and architectural achievements of ancient Egypt. After exploring the temple, you’ll return to your cruise ship for lunch.

As your cruise continues along the Nile, you’ll arrive in the city of Kom Ombo. In the afternoon, you’ll visit the Temple of Kom Ombo, a unique and historically significant temple dedicated to the gods Sobek and Haroeris. The dual nature of this temple is truly intriguing, as it served the worship of two different deities.

While cruising, you can enjoy the sun deck and take in the breathtaking landscape of the Nile River, the lifeblood of ancient Egypt. The banks of this majestic river are where the remarkable civilization of ancient Egypt was born and thrived.

Dinner will be served on board as you sail towards the city of Aswan. Late in the evening, you’ll arrive in Aswan, where you’ll spend the night on your cruise ship.

Day 04: Aswan City Tour – Aswan ON

Your day begins with a delicious breakfast served on board your cruise ship. Afterward, you’ll join your Egyptologist tour guide to explore the vibrant city of Aswan.

Your first stop is the High Dam, an impressive structure built under the leadership of Egyptian President Gamal Abdel Nasser in 1960 AD. The dam was constructed to protect Egypt from the annual Nile flood and to harness the river’s waters for various purposes, including irrigation and electricity generation.

Following your visit to the High Dam, you’ll embark on a delightful motorboat ride on the Nile River, taking you to Agilika Island. Here, you’ll discover the Temple of Philae, an enchanting Greco-Roman temple dedicated to the goddess Isis, the mother of god Horus. The temple’s relocation to Agilika Island was a remarkable feat of engineering to save it from the rising waters caused by the construction of the High Dam.

Your exploration of Aswan continues with a visit to the Unfinished Obelisk, a colossal red granite obelisk dedicated to the god Amun Ra. This unfinished monument provides insight into the ancient quarrying techniques employed by the Egyptians.

After an eventful day of sightseeing, you’ll return to your cruise ship for lunch, which will be served on board. In the afternoon, you can enjoy some relaxing tea on board as you soak in the tranquil atmosphere of the Nile.

Your evening is free for leisure, giving you the opportunity to explore Aswan on your own or simply unwind on the cruise ship. Dinner will be served on board, and you’ll spend the night in Aswan.

Day 05: Disembarkation from cruise – Departure to Cairo

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, it will be time to check out from your Nile cruise. Our representative will be there to assist you with your departure, ensuring a smooth transition.

You’ll then be accompanied to Aswan Airport or the train station for your flight or train journey back to Cairo. This marks the end of your Nile cruise adventure.

Optional Tour: If you’re interested in exploring the magnificent Abu Simbel Temples, you have the opportunity to do so on an optional excursion. Our English-speaking tour guide in Aswan will arrange for your transportation, either by private coach or by domestic flight, to the awe-inspiring Abu Simbel Temples.

Abu Simbel lies to the south of Aswan on the western bank of the Nile, approximately 180 miles south of the First Cataract, in what was once Nubia. The site, known as Meha in ancient times, dates back to the 18th Dynasty when Ay and Horemheb commissioned rock-cut chapels in the southern hills.

Upon arrival at Abu Simbel, you’ll visit the magnificent temples, which were built by the renowned Pharaoh Ramses II. The largest of the two temples, the Great Temple, is dedicated to the god Rahorakhty. The smaller temple is dedicated to Ramses II himself and his beloved queen, Nefertari.

After a fascinating exploration of Abu Simbel, you’ll return to Aswan. Depending on your preference, you can either check in at your chosen hotel in Aswan for some rest and refreshment or proceed to Aswan Airport for your domestic flight to Cairo.
